The power of nature to rejuvenate

As an accredited Resilience coach, I am often asked what helps refresh, restore, and maintain our resilience?

There are 3 core enablers, energy, learning and being. Given it is Spring, let’s explore being.

Being is about being in the moment, in the present, in the now.

We spend so much of our time worrying about what has happened, what may happen, thinking about what could happen. We spend very little of our time actually being present – in the here and now – feeling, sensing and being.

One place it is hard to be anything but present is in nature.

Take a walk outside. Listen to the birds, breathe in the fresh air, look closely at Mother Nature in all her glory.

Feel the grass beneath your feet, the warmth of the sun on your face, or the breeze in your hair.

Smell the blossom, notice the leaves bursting open, hear the gentle buzz of the bees.

Here in the northern hemisphere, the days are now beginning to lengthen fast. Past the equinox, days are longer than nights. The sap is rising, and new growth and possibilities are all around us.

Walk outside in nature. Really notice and let yourself experience the wonder of this natural cycle.

You will feel uplifted.

What can you do in your daily routine to be really present?

What can you do to stay in the moment, and refresh yourself with nature?
